The things people ask first.

Do I need to know how to code?
No. You describe your business in plain words, the AI writes the file, and you save it. If you can write an email and save a file, you can do this. Over time you may start recognizing bits of the HTML, and that is a bonus, not a requirement.
What does this cost?
BlueYucca is free. The AI tools have free tiers that are enough for a simple site. Hosting can be free too, or a few dollars a month if you want extras. The hosting guide walks through both.
What is the catch?
There is none, and that is the point. BlueYucca is a free project from Cultivatum LLC built out of a conviction that small businesses should own their websites. Nothing here collects your information or asks you to sign up.
Will the AI get it right the first time?
Sometimes yes, sometimes it takes a few tries. Results vary between Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, and even between days with the same tool. That is normal. Ask for changes in plain words and it will revise, just like a helpful contractor.

About BlueYucca.

BlueYucca is a free, open source utility lab from Cultivatum LLC and part of the kakt.ai family. The whole point is simple: help small businesses and everyday people build websites they actually own, so nobody gets taken advantage of by rising subscriptions or platform lock-in.

How this started

Earlier this year I ran a fun test. I built a page for this domain in Microsoft FrontPage 2003, a website tool from more than two decades ago, and put it live on a modern global network. It loaded fast, it worked everywhere, and it needed no platform, no subscription, and no rebuild.

That little experiment gave me the push to go back to the basics: simple, lightweight HTML that belongs to you. See the original FrontPage experiment.

FUN FACT

Why "BlueYucca"?

No brand agency, no focus group. I just like blue yucca plants. They are one of my favorites, and I liked the way the name sounded. So I bought the domain back in 2006, and then it sat there for twenty years, waiting for a purpose. It finally has one.
